AMMON – A Texas-based restaurant chain is opening its first location in eastern Idaho this week.
Super Chix will open to the public at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at 2671 East Sunnyside Road in Ammon inside the new Hillcrest Plaza. Vice President of Operations Nate Kenyon told EastIdahoNews.com Wednesday’s opening will go without fanfare, but a grand opening is in the works on Saturday.
“We’re just going to open the doors and see what happens. I’m sure it’s going to be an outpouring of the community. Saturday is the day we are going to drive the community wild, ”says Kenyon. “The first 100 people to walk through the door (Saturday), we’re giving away a free chicken sandwich and a free regular fries.”
Employees were busy preparing for the opening Monday afternoon.
The 3,000-square-foot restaurant was originally slated to open in April or May, but Kenyon said a major construction boost will see it open much earlier than expected.
“We found some pretty amazing entrepreneurs who were able to walk us through the process and open up as quickly as possible,” he says.

Super Chix is a fast, casual food franchise that offers a variety of chicken sandwiches, hand-cut fries, salads, and frozen custard.
