BOISE, Idaho – For those who don’t have health insurance with their employer and aren’t eligible for Medicaid or Medicare, open enrollment is now underway for Your Health Idaho (YHI). But time is running out; the open registration period ends on December 15th.
Because of the increased subsidies, Idahoans could save a lot on a plan for themselves and their families through the state health insurance swap, according to Pat Kelly, executive director of YHI.
“So what really gets us excited this year is the improved tax credits,” Kelly said. “These enhanced tax credits are saving more money than ever before. In fact, many of the current registrants are enjoying discounts of up to 36% from what they have seen in previous years. These are huge savings for people. only that, but many people who were not eligible in previous years are eligible this year. “
YHI offers 164 medical plans and 17 dental plans from nine insurance companies. The plans are in three levels; bronze, silver and gold.
A family of four in Ada County earning $ 85,000 per year would pay $ 0 per month for a Bronze plan, $ 428 per month for a Silver plan, and $ 503 per month for a Gold plan.
Those interested in purchasing insurance through the state insurance exchange or wanting more information about the plans it has to offer can visit the YHI website.
